Breakfast

If you are hungry in the morning, did you know that it is bad for your body to skip breakfast? With the occasional exception (usually during intermittent fasting diets), and if you have to force yourself to eat, it is not healthy to skip your morning breakfast. You can hardly call it breakfast without that side of toast, right? I love toast but it is FULL of carbs. If you are going to add toast to your daily breakfast make sure you use a whole grain bread. The healthier the carb the better. You may also want to try this Baked Denver Omelet as another healthy addition to your morning breakfast routine.

Low Carb Pizza!!

Every Sunday is meal prep day and sometimes I crave certain foods while I am cooking, like Ice Cream and pizza. Ice cream is really hard to duplicate on a low carb diet but pizza you can duplicate with many different things. One of my favorites is making Zucchini pizza boats. All you have to do is cut a zucchini in half, scoop out the seeds, grill it some, add your favorite toppings and place it in the oven for a bit and viola you have yourself some pizza. This week I tried Caprese Zucchini Pizza boats and they are delicious.

Rewinding back to February 2017 I was feeling helpless, defeated, and all together exhausted. Mom guilt was in overload and I just couldn’t see myself out of it. I am a Full Time working mom who woke up never feeling fully rested. After working a full day and grabbing the kids, I would come home and lay on the couch, going to bed right after the kids did, barely getting the day to day chores done. Coffee in the morning, coffee in the afternoon. Soda, green tea with caffeine, energy sprays and lotions.. ANYTHING I could do to feel more awake. Nothing would get done during the week and with the limited time I had on the weekend.. the entire morning would be spent on the couch, coffee in hand, trying to get motivated. Before I knew it half the day was gone and I had done nothing.

Then my children started to notice, “Mommy, my dream for you would be that you could nap everyday so you wouldn’t be so tired”. Hearing this from my daughter broke my heart. How could I do this to them? This isn’t the life I wanted for myself either. I was stuck though and didn’t know where to go or what to do. I was dealing with general aches and discomforts that were affecting my overall quality of life. I started to wonder.. is this what 36 is?

One day I saw my friend post a picture of her DFT and hash tagged energized. And that got me! What is this she has and how do I get this energy?! I NEED to feel energized!! I had never heard of the Thrive Experience before which actually made it that more exciting to me, I had to try it! No hesitation here. After years and years of trying every diet, every fad, every vitamin, energy supplement I could, with no results.. I was (once again) ready to try something new.

From Day 1 I started to notice subtle changes.. every day a little more. By Day 10 I felt ALIVE again. It was pretty surreal.

I knew Thrive was something I could never stop and I had to share with everyone. My general aches and discomforts were calm. No more naps on the couch or dreaming of bedtime. I was awake, alert, and mentally “clear” – who knew I had been living in a fog for so long?!?!

It has become so common to hear “tired as a mother” or “coffee first”. I laugh on the car ride into work and often sing to the kids when I wake them up every morning. My favorite is just to make someone else’s day with a kind word or a compliment because you know that everyone should be Thriving in life.

I am 100% more confident in myself and my abilities to handle things, thanks to those 3 simple steps (capsules, Lifestyle Mix, DFT). I know whatever life throws my way, I will have the energy, strength, mental clarity, and drive to get it done!

Exercise

I am not going to mince words, I hate leg day. I literally feel like I am dying after leg day. I’ve got bruises up and down my legs and my feet are killing me but every day that I force myself to do leg day I KNOW that I am getting stronger. If you want a killer routine that gets you the results you want with your legs pick your own weight limit and then try this break down. It’s a difficult but worthwhile workout.

Barbell squats – 4 sets, 8-12 reps

Walking dumbbell lunges – 4 sets, 8-12 reps

Stiff Leg barbell deadlifts – 4 sets, 8-12 reps

DB reverse lunges – 4 sets, 8-12 reps

Hamstring Curls – 4 sets, 8-12 reps

Body weight standing calf raises – 4 sets, 8-12 reps

Recipe – Healthy Eating

Most of the time diets are not fun! I have found many recipes that I love and coupled with proper exercise and a healthy Vitamin Supplement I am feeling amazing. Today I tried a vegetarian version of KETO Chicken Taquitos and they are amazing. For those who are vegetarian just substitute chicken with the meal starter veggie chicken from Morning Star. They are NOT KETO but they are low carb and delicious.
